Pokémon potential for science and citizen science
There are probably more, if you follow biodiversity related social media. GBIF maps, iNaturalist, Earthcape, ignorance maps, all can very efficiently guide you through what was seen before, and direct to areas where no one been before. Augmented reality has a huge potential in digital natural history. I would be happy with GBIF goggles to start with. It would be especially nice wearing them in an airplane or in a hot air balloon. Close range field work mode would be handy too, especially if could help ID, census things etc.
